MAJOR CHANGES for Charity Street Fair
We now call this event RTK Charity Sale instead of The Charity Street Fair, organised by Rumah Titian Kasih and managed by Love The Person Next To You team members and volunteers. The following is its detail
Date: 1 February 2010 (might change later based on DBKL's date)
Time: (to be advised later)
Venue: Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur
Organiser: Rumah Titian Kasih
More interesting, this event will be held in conjunction with Sambutan Hari Wilayah Persekutuan 2010 which will be held in Dataran Merdeka, this 1 February 2010 (there may be changes to date and time depending on DBKL, we will advise you guys later on the confirmed date). There will still be stalls from Rumah Titian Kaseh (RTK) . For your information, RTK sells stuff for their income and most of the stuff (clothes, pastries etc.) are made by the single moms so that the orphans can have a better life.
Our idea is to give Rumah Titian Kaseh an opportunity to have a big day to sell their stuff and increase their revenue. Plus, they need to raise RM2.3 Million to prevent their house from being taken by the landlord. Furthermore, this would also help them to believe the world is still a better place. At the same time we hope that this event will expose Rumah Titian Kaseh to those who have a kind heart to help them in term of money donation and business opportunity.
As for us who are more fortunate, let us take this opportunity to have fun while doing charity. God's willing, our good deeds will be blessed and returned with better deeds.
There's no harm in helping these people by buying their stuff. Right? Plus, this is a free event guys, there's no entry fee whatsoever :)
It's Hari Wilayah Persekutuan and your time to do some charity. So don't miss this fun day out! Don't forget to bring your children, families and friends too..
And that's not all!! There will be a Performances, Pedicure & Manicure station, Reflexology booth, Jumbo Clothing Sale, and Art & Handcraft by the residents of Rumah Titian Kaseh!!
We will update you later on regarding the activities and entertainments!! Stay tune....
See you there!

The Charity Street Fair
The following is some information about this event.
Event Name: The Charity Street Fair.
Date: Saturday, 30th January 2010.
Time: 10.00am – 2.00pm.
Venue: Bekas Tapak Permainan, Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Kuala Lumpur.
Organiser: Love The Person Next To You.
This event is our second event in Malaysia. The Charity Street Fair adapts from the idea of flea market. The difference in our event is that the seller in this market comes from Rumah-Rumah Kebajikan who sells stuff for their living. By participating in this event, these rumah kebajikan have a chance to increase their sales revenue. LTPN2U will just provide a place for them to sell their stuff and invite people to come to this fair. It is up to them how they are selling their stuff. The more hard work they put, the more money they will get. This will also expose them to a business opportunity if we get a good media coverage of this event. Having a chance to independently sell their handmade stuff, we believe this event will encourage their creativity, discipline and self-respect by lifting up their spirit to survive and learn.
We need sponsors for this event. If you are interested in sponsoring us, feel free to contact us. For more information about this event, please go to this Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=248023974560&ref=ts
